Last week, I blogged about my belief that every mother deserves beautiful pictures of her baby. And I'm thrilled to say that I recieved a great response from that post. So thank you to everyone who read it, forwarded the link, or sent words of support! Actually, the response was so great that I got to photograph two brand new babies last week and am expecting a few more births in the next few months.
I'm still trying to figure out how and where to post images from my photo shoots so that other moms can see what I do, but still keep this blog authentic to its purpose (which is to chronicle our life). I may need to establish a new place to showcase these shoots, but I wanted to share some images with you because you supported me in my passion and helped make these possible!
I think this momma deserves a special plug. She went into labor around 5am and delivered a perfect, 9 1/2 pound baby boy, completely natural, just after 8am. Barely 3 hours of labor. I'm so jealous!
He was born at a birth center with his almost 2 year old sister in the next room, playing with Kane. Now don't let this picture fool you - Kane loves playing with G, he just isn't so big on the hugs and kisses that she likes to hand out.
When Big Sis met her new sibling, she starting calling him "Little Bro". It was adorable.
Dad got to weigh the little guy and everyone was shocked when he was 9 pounds, 8 ounces. We were guessing somewhere in the high 8 pound range.
This new adventure truly is a passion. I love being there and seeing new life. I love seeing parents interacting with their new little bundles. And I love being able to give mothers images of their newborn's first hours of life.
And I can't wait to do more.
